You are a Project Manager, sitting at your desk, maybe sipping a fresh-brewed coffee. Suddenly you receive a heads-up that a new Drupal Project is headed your way. Sprint 0 will be starting in the next two days. You can assume that the SOW (Statement of Work) is signed, or almost signed, and a few SWAGs (Sophisticated Wild Ass Guesses) have already been ventured.

Some of the most important new features in ES6 originate from existing solutions for problems shared by a large swath of JavaScript applications, and this is true of ES6 modules, a new system of class-based inheritance, and promises. At some point, all three have been present in various JavaScript libraries, but until now, they were impossible to implement natively.

Object structures and functions are possibly two of the most commonly utilized syntactic features in JavaScript, as they both have important roles in defining classes in object-oriented programming. In ES6, defining methods and functions has become much easier with the help of concise properties and methods, and especially arrow functions, which may help to limit the lines of code you have to write.

This is part one of a four part series on Acquia Cloud Site Factory and Acquia Lift. You can no longer think of your website as a summary of what your organization has to offer; it's less about you -- your products, services, etc. -- and more about the experience you are creating for your customers via unique, personalized content. If you are to succeed, you need to break out of the traditional website experience and focus on the digital experience.

People tend to choose bad passwords if they are allowed to.By default Drupal (7) provides some guidance about how to "make your password stronger." (In D8 password strength is a plugin to Password Policy.)But there's no enforcement of any particular password policy out of the box. As usual, there's a module for that. More than one in fact.

A couple of Drupalists meet WordCamp London 2017 - WordCamp London 2017 was my very first WordPress community event; my first time up close with a community rumoured to have a very different focus and feeling than the Drupal community I know and love. But contribution, the one theme unifying us across all open source software communities, brought us all together.

My trusty microphone, camera, and I recorded a few great conversations at DrupalCon in Mumbai that have never been released until now. Today, a conversation with Rakesh James, who credits Dries for giving him a way to live and support his family with Drupal. Rakesh is an extraordinary and generous person; he's personally paid that forward, giving others in India the chance to change their lives, too, by teaching hundreds of people Drupal and giving them a shot at a career, too. He's also a top 30 contributor to Drupal 8 core.

In the first installment of this blog series, we set up a workflow that allows us both to transpile arbitrary ES6 into JavaScript legible to all modern browsers and to bundle that JavaScript into browser-ready assets. We also explored how working with variable scope has improved in ES6 and working with let and const statements. In this second installment, we’ll be digging deeper into assigning values to variables as well as the spread (or rest) operator.

Not even three months into 2017, and already two industry articles have appeared that claim that this is "the Year of Decoupled."If so, this is propitious development for Drupal, and the Acquia Developer Center. Because we've been publishing "decoupled"-related (AKA "headless," AKA "API-First") thinking for a while now.Wouldn't it make sense to start organizing it into one stream? That's what we thought. So here's our first installment of a blog series that will point to some of the best thinking on decoupled in general, and decoupled Drupal in particular.

In January of 2015, Accel-KKR, a private equity firm, combined Ektron and the Swedish company Episerver into a single company and CMS platform. This has caused many organizations to choose to migrate off the Ektron platform and onto a CMS like Drupal. Two factors are driving this trend: the high cost of an Episerver license upgrade, and the fact that the open source landscape has evolved significantly over the prior decade, to the point where many enterprise organizations (from private and public corporations to government entities) have embraced Drupal and the open source community.

How Acquia distills tens of thousands of hours of client work into products and open source tools for Drupal. Drupal gets better when companies, organizations, and individuals build or fix something they need and then share it with the rest of us. Our community becomes better, stronger, and smarter when others take it upon themselves to make a positive difference contributing their knowledge, time, and energy to Drupal. Acquia is proud to play a part, alongside thousands of others, in making tomorrow’s Drupal better than today’s.
