About DrupalCon
DrupalCon is an international educational event that unites people who use, develop, design and support the Drupal platform from around the world. There are countless opportunities to network, learn, and be inspired. This year, DrupalCon Europe 2021 is bringing together the European community (and beyond) by connecting and hosting the regional Drupal camps with the main conference. This means you will be able to experience different local community events in one place in their own language, although most side events will be held in English.
Why attend?
DrupalCon offers a wide range of sessions that give you skills to build upon. The conference provides the stage for exploring the most ambitious and cutting edge case studies, inspiring others to take their work to the next level, and offering prospective users a glimpse into “the art of the possible” when you choose Drupal. From networking events to beginner training workshops, coupled with sessions to community activities, there are many ways to feel like you belong. It is the best place to learn how amazing digital experiences were created among a friendly and familiar crowd of developers, designers, marketers, and project managers who all push the boundaries of what’s possible when using Drupal’s flexible, secure, and open platform. You'll leave DrupalCon inspired and empowered to create more amazing digital experiences.
Featured Sessions
A number of the Amazee Labsters will be attending DrupalCon, and here are some of the sessions that we’re looking forward to:
- John Albin Wilkins, an Amazee Labs alumni and now working with Annertech, will talk about The accessibility mistake our entire industry is making. Web accessibility is an important aspect of an inclusive society by eliminating barriers that restrict a person's access to the web.
- Hristo Chonov, of 1xINTERNET, will talk about Autosave and Concurrent editing (conflict resolution) in Drupal 8/9. We’re looking into autosave and concurrent editing features for our client needs and we’re looking forward to learning from Hristo’s experiences.
- Robert Caracaus, of Desarol, will talk about Building multilingual websites with Gatsby and Drupal. We’re building many of our client solutions with Gatsby and we’ve also talked and blogged about multilingual websites before, so we’re interested to see what Robert will share.
- Alanna Burke, of amazee.io, will talk about Taking A Project Public - The History of Lagoon. We’re close partners with amazee.io, and we use Lagoon in all of our projects, so we’re looking forward to hearing from Alanna about its history.
- Kerstin Polte, of Cocomore, will talk about The true-life experience of a Drupal content editor – we are only as good as the system is! We’re always looking to improve the editor experience for our clients, so we can’t wait to hear what Kerstin has to share.
- Inez Declercq, of DropSolid, will talk about Why UX testing is a must and how we iterated towards an amazing editorial experience. Our design team does UX testing and we’ve recently looked into Designing with AI Eyes, so we’re excited to hear from Inez.
- Anita Ihuman, of Nirmata will discuss How Implicit Bias Affects Diversity and Inclusion in Open Source. This is a topic at the very core of Amazee Labs, and last month our HR Manager outlined some tangible steps that can be taken when Building an Inclusive Culture.
And finally, we will of course be watching the Driesnote, in fact, Amazee Labs is hosting an in-person event with Drupal Switzerland and Drupal Mountain Camp for the Swiss community to gather together on Wednesday 6th October and watch DrupalCon keynotes together, along with some networking, food, and perhaps lightning talks.
See you there
Whether you’re new to Drupal or a long-time enthusiast, you’ll find valuable information, skills, and connections you can build on after the event. At DrupalCon Europe 2021, you can learn how to use Drupal from the best and most experienced people in the field. There’s still time – register today and if you’re in the Zürich area, join us on the 6th for some in-person DrupalCon fun!
